About this place
Pick at Kyoto nama-fu dengaku while choosing a few skewers and a glass of sake. Suishin combines the easy-going feel of an izakaya with dishes made using Kyoto ingredients, making it simple to put together a meal that suits you. The Kyoto-speciality selection includes chilled Kyoto tofu, Kyoto fried tofu grilled with soy sauce, nama-fu and yuba fried in dashi, and Kyoto yuba spring rolls. One diner writes that they enjoyed tonpeiyaki and nama-fu dengaku.
For skewers, there is an assortment of 5 grilled chicken skewers, or you can choose individual skewers such as chicken thigh, chicken and green onion, gizzard and tsukune. Alongside chicken cuts, mochi, cheese and bacon skewers or asparagus wrapped in pork add variety. Sashimi platters come in 3-, 6- and 8-variety options, so you can choose according to your group or appetite; individual sashimi and tuna carpaccio are also available. If you would like another dish, consider the shrimp and vegetable tempura assortment or a salad of Kyoto tofu, Kyoto fried tofu and mizuna.
A tasting set lets you sample 3 Kyoto junmai sakes in small portions: Beautiful Kamo River from Rakuchu, Tamagawa from Kyotango and Sawaya Matsumoto from Fushimi. Alternatively, the menu includes Suishin served warm, as well as Kubota Senju and Hakkaisan by the 90ml glass. To round off the meal, there are assorted nigiri sushi and soba, along with stone-grilled mixed fried rice and stone-grilled beef rice. For dessert, choose between a grilled nama-fu parfait and hot Imagawa-yaki with ice cream.
The restaurant is described as having private rooms and being suitable for groups.
